Our new helicopter motors have been designed for the special demands of the tough environment that helicopters present. The lack of cooling and high peak loads in hard 3D flying often leads to very hot motors that fail early. Our newly designed “H” series motors address the issues by taking our very efficient 11,15 and 19 series of motors and enclosing them in a newly designed case with cooling fins and a very powerful internal blower/shroud that directs the air over the surface of the motor housing and fins. There is enough air moved that if the speed controller is mounted close by it can be cooled also.
•The 1107H/2Y uses the same stator/rotor as our popular 1107/2Y motor. The original 1107/2Y motor has proven itself to be one of the most efficient, powerful and coolest motors available. The 1107H version will ensure it keeps that title. Most fliers will find this motor to be the best balance between power and efficiency. It can be run on 3S for very strong sport flying or with 4S for truly silly power! Use a 10 or 11 tooth pinion gear for 4S and a 13 tooth for 3S.
•The 1107H/1.5Y motor has a stronger magnets than does our 1107/1.5Y giving it higher torque and lower RPM making it ideal for the Trex450 on 3S Lithium. The 1107H/1.5Y is a new version that is intended for the very hard core 3D flier. It has very low resistance coupled with very low idle current which results in a motor that can be run at very high peak power without generating excessive heat. Use a 10 or 11 tooth gear for 3S. This motor is too high of RPM for 4S use.
The 1512H/1.5 and 1515/2.5D have proven to be very popular with the Trex 600 Helicopters when running 6S lithium battery packs. Use a 10-11 tooth steel pinion gear and you will have a cool running 3D machine on the hot summer days. All the versions of the 15 size motors are available with the “H” style case and cooling fan.
We are happy to introduce a helicopter specific version of our popular 19 series motors. The first ones to be available are the motors that have proven to be the motor of choice for the hard flying 3D versions of the Trex 600. For 8S setups the 1910H/1Y is the motor to beat. On 10 S the 1912H/1Y is the king! Coming soon will be the 1907H/1Y for the 6S lithium battery fliers.

Note for heli motors! Be sure that you check the motor bearings for noise every few flights. Excessive side loads on the front shaft can damage the bearings which can lead to bearing failure. Be sure to double check gear mesh and make sure it is not too tight! If there is noticeable play in the bearings they are making noise then it is time to have the motor checked! Damage of this type may not be covered as a warranty! Use your ears and avoid problems. This is most important for the 3D type fliers!
